I’m just a 19 year old trying to follow Jesus. I have the awesome privilege of being on staff as a worship leader and youth leader at Oasis Church in Pembroke Pines, FL. The amazing thing about God is that He sends surprises our way that exceed our expectations. Stay faithful to Him and “trust in the Lord with all your heart, lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will make your paths straight.” (Prov. 3:5-6) How sweet are the promises of our Savior!
The fall of ’08 I entered as a student at Belmont University in Nashville, TN. I was accepted into the Commercial Voice program and headed off to follow my dream. After a wonderful year there, God called me to South Florida to pursue a different dream- one that He’d placed in my heart as a young girl. He opened the door for me to be in worship and youth ministry. What was supposed to be a summer experience turned into an opportunity to stay for the year. I wish I could share everything I’ve learned over the past few months. This is why I’m blogging! I’m hoping that in some small way my journey will encourage you. There are bumps in the road, but if you are obedient to His call, God will blow your socks off!
There are lots of times when I can’t stop smiling, so just smile back : ) I can’t help it- I’m passionately in love with Jesus.
“Because your love is better than life, my lips will glorify you!” Psalm 63:03

Uncle Dave
Hey Julie Anne!
Your Dad forwarded the link to your blog and I really enjoyed reading about your Miami trip. Oasis sounds like a congregation seeking God’s will in a BIG way. I’d love to visit it myself when I get down that way again. Your summer will be uplifting and encouraging in so many ways ministering to the people of Miami/Ft. Lauderdale.
I think of you and Eric often as you face the challenges and enjoy the blessings of college life. Belmont is a great school and I’m so glad that you’re able to be there.
Look foward to keeping up with what you’re up to and seeing you again soon! Kayla and I are headed to Atlanta this afternoon for a weekend-long volleyball tournament. I believe we play at Emory University tomorrow.
Praying for ya!
Love, Uncle Dave
