So, you might be wondering about the name of my blog. I’ve always been fascinated by the wind and how it moves. Psalm 104:3 says,

“He (God) makes the clouds his chariot and rides on the wings of the wind”

and John 3:7-8 in the Message translation says this,

“So don’t be so surprised when I tell you that you have to be ‘born from above’—out of this world, so to speak. You know well enough how the wind blows this way and that. You hear it rustling through the trees, but you have no idea where it comes from or where it’s headed next. That’s the way it is with everyone ‘born from above’ by the wind of God, the Spirit of God.”

I was observing one day how leaves move. Some leaves were blowing about, tossing and twirling with the wind- free and unconcerned with their destination. Contrastingly, there were many leaves stuck in the mud unable to freely move. They had the appearance of flying, but were nevertheless stationary. I decided that I’d rather be free and moving with God’s spirit, flying with Him on the wings of the wind then stuck in the mud. Everyday I pray the prayer, “God, blow me like a leaf today.” Sometimes that’s a scary prayer. But however unstable the results of that prayer are, there is nothing like being on an adventure  with the Creator and Sustainer of life!
